My network places – where stored

In Windows XP og 2003 terminal server you could use my network places to access SharePoint rescources.
In Windows 7/ 2008 terminal server you now have to use Favorites for easy access to these resources:
Which stores .lnk files in %userprofile% \Links

You cannot find recent items in your start menu in Windows 7/Windows 2008.
Even after switching on recent items via GPO:
“User configuration\Policies\Administrative templates\Start menu and taskbar\Remove recent items menu from start menu” this is set to: “disabled”
You will not find recent items in your start menu. This bug has been confirmed by Microsoft.
To turn on recent items, do the following:
HKCU\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Advanced\
Add a REG_DWORD: Start_ShowRecentDocs value=1
Voila, you have recent items in your startmenu.
